9. MUSIC:  CD highly recommended (“plug and play”). Back-ups
must be a cassette tape labeled properly, cued and of
professional quality.  Performers must use judgment when
selecting music and its lyrical content.  Vulgar, derogatory or
sexually suggestive words, inappropriate gestures and
inappropriate dance moves are cause for disqualification and
immediate cessation/removal from the stage.  THIS IS FAMLY
ENTERTAINMENT (Rated G).

11. TIME LIMITS:
 Performance maximum - 3.5 minutes.
Entries are timed from the formal invite to stage to the moment of
complete exit from stage, with stage as it was before entrance
.
This total time shall not exceed 4.5 minutes (4 minutes and 30
seconds).
A 2-point deduction will result for every 5 seconds of
overtime (4.75 minutes = -6 points).
Advice:  Practice to see how much time it takes you to walk onto
stage, set up and perform, and then pick up and leave stage, and
keep this time to 4 minutes or less.
It’s not about completing an
entire song or routine, it’s about giving the best performance and
providing the best entertainment in under the time allowed-THIS
IS A TRY-OUT.

12. SCORING:
Judges score each performance on a scale of 0 to
100, as per NEP score sheet.  Judges are assessing level of
entertainment.  Judges scores are added and divided by the
number of judges.  Of all of the try-out performances, the top 50
(+/-) will be invited to compete in the finals on March 15,2008 at
Toll Gate High School in Warwick, Rhode Island.  Of those 50, the
top
20  (+/-) will be performing again in the evening finale
performance.  All judges decisions are final, no exceptions!
